& What's a fanlisting?

& The Sisters
Kanoe and Hinoto are two sisters from the anime and manga series X/1999 by the wonderful manga-ka team CLAMP. Hinoto-hime is a dreamseer, meaning she can see the future, and can communicate with other dreamseers and strong psychics. She lives in the basment of the National Diet Building, where she shares her dreams and predicts the future for the government. She is blind, deaf, mute, and unable to walk, and can only communicate telepathically and through dreams. She is the dreamseer for the Ten no Ryuu, or the Dragons of Heaven.

Kanoe is Hinoto's younger sister, and a dreamseer herself, though she can only share other's dreams, and cannot predict the future on her own. However, Kanoe can, and does, see the future via other dreamseers dreams, such as Kuzuki Kakyo and of course, her sister, Hinoto. Kanoe supports and shares information with the Chi no Ryuu, or the Dragons of Earth.

& The Realtionship
Hinoto and Kanoe's relationship is somewhat complicated. Though it often doesn't seem so, Kanoe loves her older sister very much, and hates the life that Hinoto is forced to live, working for the government, and living in the paralyzed body of a dreamseer. Because of this, her main motivation for supporting the Chi no Ryuu is to free Hinoto from her life as a dreamseer. In the movie, this motivation is made quite obvious, as Kanoe explains her desire to her sister as she dies in her arms. For her part, Hinoto does not seeem to fully understand Kanoe's intentions for supporting the Dragons of Earth at first, and asks her why she sides with them. [*To be honest, I can't remember whether or not Kanoe shares her motivations with Hinoto in the manga...it's been quite a while since I've read the early volumes ^^; *] Later, however, after she is taken over by her darker self, she does attempt to call for Kanoe's help (which I found oddly touching), despite the different sides they are on, indicating a strong bond with Kanoe, and perhaps the knowledge that her sister truly does want to help Hinoto...in her own way.

& Why?
Kanoe and Hinoto's relationship really wasn't that interesting to me at first - it seemed mostly like they were there simply to balance each other out, and be the guiding forces behind the respective group of dragons. Good sister/bad sister, pretty simple. However, I was pretty suprised when Kanoe explained that she just wanted to free Hinoto from her life as a dreamseer. It was a bit of character depth that I didn't expect from/for Kanoe, and it endeared her character to me quite a bit. Since then, I've been a fan of the Kanoe/Hinoto relationship, one that I think is kinda ignored in the X fandom (though I think poor Kanoe in general is ignored...) It doesn't all have to be romantic relationships, y'know...

& The Name
The name for this fanlisting, My Wish for You, comes from Kanoe's desire to free Hinoto from her restrained life as a dreamseer. I believe she discusses this wish with Fuuma at some point in the manga, though, again, my memory's a little rusty.
