x What is a fanlisting?

Most fanlistings are approved through The Fanlistings or its sister organization, The Anime Fanlistings. Shining Forever is approved by TFL, and is for the song Endless Story, by Yuna Ito.

x The Song
Endless Story was the title song of Yuna Ito's debut single, and was featured in the movie NANA, the live-action adaptation of Ai Yazawa's excellent and long-running manga series, which starred Mika Nakashima and Aoi Miyazaki. It also featured Yuna as Reira Seirezawa, the lead singer of the fictional band Trapnest, which is why Endless Story was featured in the movie. Endless Story actually plays a very big part in the NANA movie, as it is one of the songs sung at the big Trapnest concert near the end of the movie - it's played during Nana Oosaki's emotional flashback into the end of her relationship with Ren, and is the song that makes Nana and Hachi (Nana Komatsu) cry and hold hands, as they watch Ren perform on stage together.

Endless Story was also, obviously, featured on Yuna Ito's first album, Heart.

x The History
Endless Story is actually a cover of the English song If I'm Not in Love With You, written and performed by Dawn Ann Thomas for the Hollywood movie Indecent Proposal. It has been covered numerous times, by many different artists all around the world. Yuna's cover is a very loose translation of the original, though Dawn Ann Thomas is given the writing credit for the lyrics. x Why Endless Story?
Endless Story is such a beautiful song, and was always my favorite of the live-action NANA songs. It's a wonderful song for the concent and the sad moment between Nana and Hachi, and even though I'm not much for Ren or Nana and Ren together, I think the song and its lyrics describe the way Nana feels about Ren perfectly. Of course, aside from all the NANA connections, Endless Story is a beautiful song all by itself. Yuna is an amazing singer, and her voice coupled with Endless's sweet and sad lyrics (and totally random English lines :) make it a really enjoyable song to listen to.
