Tsubaki Nekoi is one of the founding members of the all-female manga-ka group CLAMP. With fellow members, Satsuki Igarashi, Mokona, and Nanase Ohkawa, CLAMP is responsible for a many popular manga titles, including RG Veda, Card Captor Sakura, Chobits, x/1999, Tokyo Babylon, Magic Knights Rayearth, Tsubasa: Resevoir Chronicle, xxxHolic, and Kobato.

Tsubaki Nekoi's role in CLAMP is usually as Mokona's art assistant, applying screentones and correcting manga illustrations. However, on several series, she took over the role as lead artist and character designer. Tsubaki's first series as lead artist was Watashi no Suki na Hito, or The One I Love. That was followed by Wish, Suki. Dakara Suki, Legal Drug, and finally xxxHolic, for which Tsubaki draws the male characters.
