Letter from the Lost Days is a song, sung by Silent Hill's usual female vocalist, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (under the name Melissa Williamson), and composed by Akira Yamaoka, originally for the third installment of the series, Silent Hill 3. It seems to be a reference to the relationship between Cheryl, Alessa, and Heather, as reincarnations and halves of one another, and is perhaps a letter that Cheryl or Alessa might write to Heather, their future incarnation. It appeared in the game during Heather and Douglas' long drive from the mall to Silent Hill. The song was also played during the Silent Hill movie, on Rose's inital drive with Sharon into Silent Hill.
