}{  kaze no Machi e

Kaze no Machi e is a beautiful song (performed in real life by FictionJunction Keiko), which plays for the first time in Tsubasa Chronicle in episode 19, when it is sung by the character Oruha in her Oto Country bar, Clover. The song itself is (probably intentionally) a bit reminscent of the song Oruha sings in the manga series Clover, from which she originates (in the manga, the song Oruha performs *is* the song from Clover). However, Fye states in both the anime and manga that he relates to Oruha's song, because he has always waited for someone to take him away, so Kaze no Machi e is also Fye and Kurogane's song, in a way. The full version of the song appears on the second Tsubasa Chronicle OST, Future Soundscapes II. If you haven't heard the song, you can download a sample from the extras page. :D

}{  why?

Kaze no Machi e is...beautiful. The song itself is amazingly performed by FictionJunction Keiko, whose vocals are appropriately quiet, sad, and soft. It has always sort of reminded me of rain, especially the parts where the chorus sings ^_^ The piano and violin bits are lovely touches, and the background music is just beautiful, but most of all, I love the fact that this is almost like a recorded version of A True Elsewhere, the song Oruha sings in Clover. The lyrics are obviously different, of course, but the key theme of being taken away to be happy with the one you love remains, and it's sort of a nice Tsubasa-bonus for Clover fans. :)
