That sea went on forever, into the blue distance About Fanlistings
what are they?"[A fanlisting is] simply an online list of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join."- The Fanlistings.org This fanlisting was approved by TFL's sister network, TAFL, and is dedicated to the song Aozora, from the AIR anime! Aozora
the songAozora is a song, written by KEY and sung by Lia, which is featured as an insert song in the twelfth and last episode of Air, as Misuzu lays dying in Haruka's arms. The song itself seems like it is Misuzu's thoughts about her last summer; her happiness, her memories, and her wishes for the people she loves.LyricsWhy Aozora?
why I love itAir is a series with amazing music, but there is no song that sums up Air, its story, or its characters better than Aozora. I fell in love with the piano version of Aozora long before I ever saw Air, and from that, fell for Lia's version. Aozora is part of the reason I watched Air in the first place, and on its own, is a beautiful, unique song. Honestly, I think Lia's vocals in the beginning can give you chills. As part of the anime, it just is Air. The song (in its full and instrumental forms) is played during the most touching moments of the show (Misuzu's reunion with Haruka, and her death), and so is a vital part of the last arc. As devastatingly sad as Misuzu's last moments are, I don't think the scene would be nearly as powerful if Aozora weren't playing in the background. The lyrics capture Misuzu's sentiment perfectly, and make this a heartbreaking and lovely song. |
